@ Remittancegirl It is absolutely a play for weakening government power in Alberta. It's people who want to pay less for the oil, pollute more while extracting it, and contribute less to hospitals, schools, and roads.
@ drgroftehauge @ Remittancegirl And they've somehow managed to convince a not insignificant portion of the population that it's in our best interests too. This is for the benefit of a few, rather than the whole province.
@ Remittancegirl as a Brit living in Britain That's a hard yes. It was so divisive. I don't think anyone feels like they got what they voted for, but many feel they got what they voted against.
@ vicarvernon @ Remittancegirl And the same hate-spewing rightwing bot-wankers keep bringing up Swexit at any opportunity here in Sweden. They're still confused on joining NATO. But keep being mad at Ukrainians getting to use their passports as travel passes on local transit here in Stockholm. Etc. And decades of "surprising" connections between Kremlin organisations and the SD.
@ Remittancegirl Indeed. I curse the brexiteers, and those like David Cameron who enabled them, daily. And that's coming from someone who can fairly easily secure a right to live and work in the EU if I want (not the case for many young people, who have had a world of opportunity stolen from them by those dark forces and dirty people).
@ Remittancegirl They've done such a good job with "divide and conquer" so far. People are chomping at the bit to vote against their own self-interests.
