A small, fast front page for a very large internet.
The idea
Good public conversation is scattered across dozens of networks. Webbit pulls a useful slice of those public feeds into one dense, old-school reader. It has no account system, no engagement traps, no infinite scroll, and no algorithm trained on you.
The pipeline
Every adapter has a short timeout. Requests run in parallel, results are normalized, and duplicate links are merged with separate discussion links. Native feed position matters more than raw reactions because a “big” score means something different on every network. The front page favors substantial links, penalizes thin or direct-media posts, and prevents one source from flooding a short run. Fresh and stale edge caches keep the page useful when an upstream is slow or unavailable.

Webbit reads public APIs and public feeds. Public replies from seven sources can be read on Webbit's normalized discussion pages; posting still happens on the original network. Webbit does not proxy private posts, log you in, vote, reply, or personalize the server response. Save, hide, source mute, theme, and density preferences live only in your browser.
