sounds like marketing speak. Somebody is trying to monetize the fediverse. "open social web", "building platforms", "continuuing our mission", "check out our website". A lot of words, but not really saying anything. Certainly didn't answer the question being replied to.

@ newsmast Ah, but that is just talking around the problem. On at least some instances, your “community messaging” puts you at the top of a trending list. How is that not one aspect of what is widely regarded a hypebot?
@ fuckitall We discussed that with Mastodon directly and they did what they could, but unfortunately that behaviour is built into Mastodon. It is a side effect of what our Channels achieved. But, as we are closing down the Channels it should no longer be a problem.
@ newsmast But your hypebot-boosted post directs people to give permission to another hypebot service to boost their posts. It’s like selling steroids to athletes, no?
