In my town it was the gourmet coffee truck and the donut truck that everyone loved.

Our coffee truck recently converted to a building! You could power the street lights from the buzz and excitement.

Congratulations! Having a local taco truck is a wonderful thing 🌮

In San Luis Obispo¹, CA, around 1985, a taqueria opened downtown. There were lines out the door there for years. There are now more taquerias than fast food in SLO. _ 1. Don't let the name fool you. SLO then was so white, and Cal Poly there is still one of the whitest of CA Universities.

This is a fun post. I need more happy stuff in Bluesky. 😻😻😻

I love this. Last winter a taco bell opened where I live for the first time and - I shit you not - there was a four hour line up that gridlocked traffic for the area for weeks.

Come visit our little corner of Michigan - we have an authentic Mexican store w/a wee kitchen (no tables) AND two other taco trucks where Spanish is spoken exclusively. We are SO lucky!

Aren't there green things in a taco? I am confused.

  9. @onenerdyopinion.bsky.social · 5 points · 4h ago

Not if you order them without green things. Then it’s just meat, cheese, and seasoning. I ordered a side of queso so I could add more cheese to it.

I hope you take vitamin pills.

Depending on the size of your small town, the local government might be in the hands of whoever owns the restaurants in it. Of course they will take a dim view of sudden competition.

  12. @onenerdyopinion.bsky.social · 8 points · 8h ago

The city owns the lot the truck is parked in. They’ve been trying to get food trucks in there for about 9 months. This is the first one to sign up.

Sounds great! Hope a variety of cuisines also set up there

My town loves new restaurants and stores. You would think we had never gone out to eat.

I know exactly what you mean. I grew up in the same small town in Minnesota 😆

Keep an eye open for ICE. These creeps like going after popular sites that employ POC.

Love taco trucks! Fresh, affordable, casual! 🪅

Delray Beach got a new Trader Joe's a few years ago and for several months it was near impossible to drive north/south due to the massive influx of traffic heading east/west from the interstate to get to Trader Joe's 🤦

    😋

Nice, may they be there for a long time to come! ...For some reason you reminded me immediately of "Hardware Store" by Weird Al. People probably didn't camp out waiting for the taco truck to open though 😂 (If you haven't listened to Hardware Store, it's the most vocally impressive Al song I know!)

    Hooray!!!

🌮 I love food trucks! It’s so nice that everyone is excited. 😊
